Our Story

Kolibri (German for hummingbird) was founded in 2010 in Rosenheim, Germany by Karl and Alexandra. What began as a small passion project quickly grew, leading us to Malta in 2012 where we launched our first online bead shop.

In 2015 we moved to Drogheda, Co. Louth, Ireland, where Kolibri Beads is proudly based today. Over the years we have expanded our range of premium beads, findings, jewellery making supplies, cords, chains and tools.

Today, we are one of Ireland’s most trusted online bead shops, shipping across Ireland, the EU and beyond. We offer fast and reliable shipping, including next-day courier delivery within Ireland and the EU.

Eco-friendly printing – Invoices and stickers are printed on recyclable, non-glossy paper. Receipts use FSC-certified paper with no coloured ink.
Certified sustainable – Our packaging is certified with the Grüne Punkt (Green Dot) recycling system.
Green delivery – We cycle orders to the post office daily (weather permitting) using our Kolibri bicycle.
Energy conscious – Low-energy computers and lighting. All equipment is switched off at night, and since 2025 part of our office runs on solar energy.
