At Kolibri, we sell only beading components of the highest quality that comply with the strict EU obligations on chemical substances, including nickel, lead and cadmium, which are deemed to be harmful to health and the environment when present above certain thresholds.
Although being a small two-person business, we do not have our own testing facilities, we request suppliers and manufacturers to provide us certificates stating that the chemicals and metals used in all components are below or within limits.
When possible, we also select manufacturers who operate within the EU who are bound to manufacture only products according to EU legislation. This avoids any possible contamination. Such products include our Czech glass and crystal beads, remaining Austrian crystal beads (Swarovski, stopped manufacturing beads in 2019), all sterling silver beads and components, German wire, all Griffin nylon and silk cords and more.
Although highly allergic people can develop allergies to any product after prolonged use, nobody has ever reported allergies using any of our products, in which case we would take it out of the market immediately.

At Kolibri Bead Supplies, we pack all orders by hand and take them to the post on a daily basis so you can expect fast and reliable postage and shipping. We welcome all common forms of payment including cards, Revolut, Paypal, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Bank Transfer and Cash upon collection. No payment-related info is stored on our website. All payment data is handled exclusively by the payment processors: PayPal and Revolut.
Irish (EU) business with international shipping
For orders being shipped within Ireland and in the European Union, VAT is already applied to the eligible items in your basket. You will not be required to pay any import duties or customs fees when your order is delivered.
For orders being shipped to countries outside of the European Union, no VAT and any sales tax will be collected by us. However your packages may be subject to the customs fees and import duties of the country to which you have your order shipped. It is the customer's duty to check about the rules and tax thresholds that apply in their country.
