Note:
The surface treatment of glass-wax beads
(imitation glass pearls), so-called waxing, is traditionally made by
immersing the glass beads in a bath. Through this process, some of the
paint also gets into the hole, thus sealing the glass bead, but it does
not mean that it will clog it. In some cases, the glass-wax bead hole
might be partly clogged with paint. It is enough to pierce it with
something pointed like a pin or a needle. Any extra paint on the outside
of the bead hole will form a seal on the thread, thus protecting the
bead.
